Blog Sale : Sedu Revolution Flat Iron

Hey everyone, I was cleaning out my bathroom the other day since I am a product junkie, I had drawers & drawers full of curling irons, blow dryers, hair products, flat irons, rollers etc. lol. Anyways, I came across this present I bought for myself from Folica.Com during the wintertime. I only use flat irons to curl my hair, and I wanted to find an iron more rounder than the Sedu so it's been sitting in my drawer for months. I have used the straightener itself maybe 5 times maximum. It's a really good flat iron, it was just a little overpriced in my opinion. I have thick curly hair and could straighten my whole head in under 20 minutes.

Purchased For: $139.00
Selling for : $60.00.

If anyone is interested please leave comments for me to display snapshots of the item. It's in tip-top condition I promise! Or shoot me an Email @ jlaperriere@student.bridgew.edu =)

June Favorites

Hey Everyone, hope you guys are enjoying your summer. I finally got my camera working so I decided to post something simple, stuff I've been into this June. A lot of these I have grabbed for the most. Even brought in my Beach Bagggie =)
1.MAC Fix + = Well, what can I say about this, everyone loves fix +! In this summer heat it's a great makeup refresher, and setting spray.
2. NARS Blush in Gina= I got this blush in the wintertime, and I haven't put it down since. Simply a beautiful matte peach shade. It's a little broken, didn't want it to spill.
3.MAC To the Beach Lipstick in Beachbound= This is my I'm not wearing makeup to the beach, but I really am ..um product. It's just a shimmery glaze to highlight the lips. Very sheer.
4.NYX Jumbo Pencil in Cottage Cheese= I use this instead of milk in the summer, very shimmery golden undertoned creme. Brings out shimmery neutral shadows wonderfully. Nice highlighter.
5.Sigma Makeup Eyebrow Brush E45 Thing= This is the best eyebrow tool I have ever used. period.
6. NYX Shadow Ombre in Peach Bronze= Pretty Bronze shade for summer, rich pigmentation and cheap! Got it off Cherry Culture for 3.50
7.Maybelline Shadow Duo in Cocoa Delight= One of my favorite neutral shadow kits, inexpensive works great...nice for i'm in a rush, i want to look nice.
8.NYX Blush in Cinnamon= I don't know why it's called cinnamon. They should have named it creamsicle. Because that pictures accurate. It's the color of melted creamsicle.

Tips & Tricks: The Perfect Smokey Eye

(Image Courtesy of Mario the Makeup Artist)

Hello everyone, I hope all is well. I am very excited on account of I am finally ready to start my freelance makeup service. I will talk more about it in my next post. Anyways, Smokey eyes were the last step in developing a skilled enough technique to do work on other people. I always had trouble creating the ideal smokey eye for myself (reasons being): I have very warm yellow based skin ( Golden Brown NC42), lighter eyes ( green), Smaller eyes ( almond shape), and lighter hair ( Golden brown with honey tones).
When trying to develop a smokey eye ( Think Kim Kardashian) I was having lots of trouble. All the grey smoke tones, I have tried over powed my eyes, and the contrast between my golden features and the grey makeup weren't positive. Grey eye makeup left my skin looking quite ashen. Here are a few types and tricks I have used to develop a great smokey eye for everyone to enjoy! Combine them to create your own custom eye look.

1. Golden/Olive Undertone Skin ( Think Mac NC): Sometimes the cooler hues suggested to create the perfect smokey eye can clash with the goldenness of the skin. While lots of folks try to downplay this attribute, I think it's the skin's natural glow. You don't want makeup to go against your facial features. You want the makeup to compliment and not compete. That being said, When doing a smokey eye on yellow undertoned skin, don't be shy to mix in Warm Brown colors. Believe it or not, Kim's makeup is rarely flat toned...and lots of neutrals are used. When I create my "go to" smokey eye, I use a touch of chocolate with lots of taupe colors. Taupe is an excellent alternative to your generic gray because it has hints of warmth. Also, a shadow with shimmer will help restore a natural glow.
I suggest: NYX Single Eyeshadow in Taupe Pearl, MAC Single Eyeshadow in Cork (Brown)
2. Cooler Undertone Skin ( Think Pinkish hues): Determining Cooler skin can be difficult because it has nothing to do with how deep your skin is. A woman with porcelain skin, and a woman with a rich chocolate brown complexion can both be cool. This gets confusing because darker tones easily mistake their skin for warm, because of their brown complexions. Brown is considered a warm color. Anywho, if you have a cool undertone, you can wear those grey smoke colors naked, by themselves, with no issues. Also, a metallic silver smoke looks lovely on cooler skin(not that other folks can't wear it)!
I Suggest: MAC Single Eyeshadow in Electra, NYX Single Eyeshadow in Dune
3.Reddish/Copper Undertone Skin: Silver also looks lovely on skin with red undertones because of the contrast, but it is a positive contrast..not like the one I explained above. I would avoid using warm colors with red undertones such as coppers, bricks, etc. It may wash out the skin. A true metallic gold smoked out with black looks really elegant.
4. Neutral Tones ( Think shades of beige): It's extremely versatile. Generic shades of greys and blacks look polished.
5. Green Eyes: Most people recommend violet smokey shades...but I would opt for a deep smokey black with hints of blue and shimmer. If your eyes aren't bluish green, and more olive, I would go for some type of wine/ burgundy shade. To bring out your eye color.
I Suggest: NYX Single Eyeshadow in Deep Space ( Blue Smoke), NYX Single Eyeshadow in Burgundy Pearl
6. Brown Eyes: Deep shades of smokey purples bring out baby browns.
I Suggest: NYX Single Eyeshadow in Deep Purple (Purple Smoke)
7. Blue eyes: Shades of deep golds smoked out with blacks and Smokey Blues
I Suggest: NYX Single Eyeshadow in Deep Space, NYX Single Eyeshadow in Utopia Gold
8. Smaller Eyes: Working with smaller eyes can be quite difficult when trying to create a smoldering look. Tips for avoiding making your eyes look smaller include: Line your waterline with a white liner pencil, to cast in light to the eyes. Use dark colors on the outer v/c, Include lighter, shimmery colors in the inner tear duct. Avoid smoking out your whole entire crease with a dark matte color, since it can make the eyes look deep set. Smoke the look out half way, instead of the whole way. Include lots of mascara, to open the eyes. When using dark colors on tiny eyes use a light, light hand. Think soft short strokes. Too much dark eye makeup can be overpowering.
9. Larger Eyes: ( Mostly very rounded) Try using dark liquid liner with a wing. This will give the illusion your eyes are more almond shaped. With larger eyes, you run the risk of your eyes with smoke makeup looking like black bruised circles. Show off the large eye shape by using dark colors throughout the crease, this intensifies the look more.
10. Almond Eyes : Try using dark liquid liner with a wing to accentuate eye shape. Avoid using smokey colors throughout the whole bottom lash line, since it makes eyes look smaller. If you must try this look out, opt for some sort of gradient fade...lighter colors towards the inner corners, dark towards the end of the eye.

I Know this post was extremely long, but hopefully it was pretty informative as well. Have a nice weekend!
Overall Smokey Eye Tip: Make sure you have very structured, "done up" Brows with smokey makeup, it will add balance to the face.

MAC Fix + Review

(Google) Hello everyone, I apologize since I have been MIA for quite some time now. I don't have any fancy excuse like I was busy or anything. Just kind of forgot about makeup and blogging for awhile haha. I have been purchasing items and working with makeup still, just have recorded any of my work and/ or updates. I picked this up a couple months ago, and since it is getting popular decided to go for a review.

WHAT IS IT? = Fix + has multiple purposes. It can be used to set makeup, add a dewy look to the skin, or just refresh your makeup in humid/ hot weather. When sprayed on a sponge, it can help to not absorb as much makeup so you don't waste. Fix + can be sprayed on a flat shader brush to bring out the intensity of eyeshadows/pigments. And their must be others.

DO I LIKE IT? = I love Fix +. It's the nicest setting spray I have ever used. It has vitamins for the skin and a pleasant cucumber scent. Also, for some reason it hydrates without being as "wet" as plain water, and dries somewhat quicker than a quick spray of tap on the face. It lasts forever, I bring it in my purse to work. Only makeup item I bring besides lip balm.
WOULD I RECOMMEND IT= Of course. Fix + is a little pricey for something that looks like a water bottle but its a great investment for anyone's makeup collection. Keep it on your vanity table, no matter how useless you think it will be, trust me you will be reaching for it.
RATE IT= 4.5 out of 5 stars only because of price.

5 Random Facts Tag

Hey all, I recently got tagged by the beautiful Leah, to do a random facts post. Her blog is http://www.jetleah.blogspot.com you should check her out she has some great interesting points like the post on Nars dupe...

Here goes.

Fact 1 : Something about me a lot of people probably don't know is my main passion is dancing. I have been dancing for 15 years. I used to be in a ballet company and travel throughout the U.S for competitions. I am part of the company at my school, but not as serious about it. I used to dance everyday. Now I choreograph here and there, and are in productions..here and there.
Fact 2: I have been 5'5 1/2 forever.....I thought i stopped growing, but Ironically I went to the doctor last week and I am now officially 5'6 =)
Fact 3: I sell Avon, Mark, and Mary Kay beauty products. I have a strong connection to my companies but that does not stop me from telling you the honest truth about my products...if it sucks..i will tell you...i rather have an honest clientele base that confides in me..than have come and go customers & I fib to to make a quick 50 bucks.
Fact 4: I first got into makeup by having to learn theatrical makeup. For dance, their was a certain makeup look you had to learn and perfect. You had to learn a lot about the face, and how lighting effects the face...I am an artist with eyeshadow and that's something not very many people know since most of my tutorials are wuth neutral shadows.
Fact 5: I live on a college campus. It was pretty exciting at first, but does get stressful at times. It's making me become a hoarder because I bring things to school and forget about them and repurchase. Now I have like two & three of everything ( Makeup, hair stuff, clothing) BUT the best part about it is having the freedom to do things your way, and when you want without extra pressure.

So those are the five boring things about me....I love the different people I get to communicate with so I am going to tag five people as well!

Product Rave of the Week: E.L.F Mineral Mascara

Hey guys, I haven't been blogging much lately since I need a new digital camera I really can't share any recent tutorials, just looks I did previously. I managed to pick up a new mascara by E.L.F, and I really didn't expect much from it because it was soooo cheap. Not to float my own cruise ship or anything, but I was blessed in the lash department, and I am not too picky with mascaras..most of them will do the job well...the only issue with mascaras I have is sanitary issues/formula issues, because I have really sensitive eyes. Lots of mascaras make my eyes red.

This is the best mascara I have tried in a long time. It costs only $3.00, ( not including the numerous sales & coupons always available) and is of extremely high quality. The lash brush isn't traditional, and sort of comb-like. It reminds me of the old Maybelline mascara with the comb, but not as large ridges. It doesn't clump whatsoever, the sculpted lashes look real. I always get a "doll-like" look with pretty much any mascara, but this definitely is a must have. This mascara is versatile...you can go for that doll-like dramatic look, a more natural look, or even in between. It is a buildable mascara with no clumps.

For 5 of these mascaras would be 15 dollars, which is actually less than one high end mascara, this mascara is a great way to stay sanitary and clean without breaking the bank. You are supposed to throw away mascaras every 3 months, sometimes I have too even sooner because of my sensitive eyes...so I can't see spending 20 dollars and chucking it..sooo I keep it too long. This is an excellent solution for that. Just buy them in the bulk, and store in makeup drawer.

Foundation Chit Chat: Makeup Forever HD Foundation

Hey you Guys, I hope everyone is having a wonderful week. I had a great weekend I spent most of it with my boyfriend Steven. This past Sunday we went shopping in Providence and I just had to hit the Mac Counter in Nordstrom..I was excited because I finally got to purchase the Peachstock Lipstick from the Liberty of London Collection. I also picked up another Gaga Lipstick, Creme De La Nude, Ravishing, Shag, and Shygirl. Oh, how I love lipstick =) I had to go clothes shopping as well, but I really hate clothes shopping...but my bf got me to take a risk and go into a store I have never been into...New York & Company, great store! Glad I took a risk..not to mention I actually know what size I am in Women's clothing now..yes I know scary...I bought cute dresses & pencil skirts for cheap! The last place I stopped was Sephora, where I just had to pick up a Makeup Forever foundation...I had been wanting to try it for awhile.
I don't have the slightest clue why I went to that store last...I went in it at 5:50 when they closed at 6 o clock. I get nervous lol..and I am an extremely slow shopper and my bf is fast fast with everything...He just told me to hurry up and shopp so that's what I did. First wrong thing I did, was get colormatched for foundation WITH foundation on. Stupid Stupid. But I figured..hey my mac s.f.f is like exactly my skin color..until the stuff oxidizes. The lady that colormatched me put on the Makeup Forever HD foundation in 170( Caramel) which is a medium shade with deep yellow tones. It looked good in the mirror, until I was in the car on the highway and did a quick swatch on my hand. It was soooooooooooo ORANGE. I was slightly pissed off because I felt my money go down the drain. I could always take it back, but the girl didn't do a bad job color matching me...they simply just didn't have the right shade...170 is the closest to my skin. Only plausible solution would be to mix two hd foundations, But I hate mixing high end foundations..and that would be 80 dollars =(
I am bringing this foundation with me when I go on vacation to Jamaica. It really does have a beautiful flawless finish and the stuff is pretty much undetectable. This foundation gives a "glow" when I use it..to my skin...That is the orange tinge counteracting the yellow..I plan on using it in the summer ..I am hoping my skin tone will darken...In conjunction with other makeup products, powders and blushes...this foundation is really beautiful! I wish I could find my exact match though.
I'm sorry this was long, but Have you had any foundation nightmare..um..encounters?
Take care,
xoxoxxo
Jenna.

Makeup Tutorial:E.L.F Fruit Series: 02 Strawberries and Cream

Hi, This is my 2nd look a part of my fruit-inspired makeup series. I wanted a strawberry lip, with a hint of a milky color..to make a very pretty baby pink lip. This look is very girly, yet simple. No eyeshadow is used in this look besides a brow highlight.Enjoy!
1. Start off with a clean face. Apply a flawless finish foundation all over the face with a dampened blending sponge. I used Makeup For Ever HD foundation in 170 (Caramel)
2. Sweep a pretty peachy pink blush to the apples of the cheeks. I used NARS blush in Orgasm.
3. Directly on the cheekbone layer another blush with an absolute pink hue. I used E.L.F Studio Blush in Pink Passion.
4. For the eyes, apply a dramatic mascara for a doll inspired look. I used E.L.F Mineral Mascara in Black.
5. For a brow highlight, sweep E.L.F Studio Eyeshadow in Sand Dollar.
5. Apply a concealer on the lips for preparation. I used a light/medium shade included in the Coastal Scents Concealer Palette.
6. Apply a pink lustre lipstick. I used MAC's Lady Gaga Edition Lipstick
7. Right under cupid's bow, apply a milky pink lipgloss. I used NARS lipgloss in Turkish Delight.
8. For the all over gloss color, I used E.L.F Super Glossy Lipshine in Watermelon.
9. To set the look, apply a setting powder on cheeks, t-zone, and forehead. I used E.L.F High Definition Powder ( Translucent)

Hope everyone is having a wonderful spring!

Makeup Tutorial: E.L.F Fruit Series: 01 Raspberries

Hi, I have decided to launch a line of "fruit" inspired looks for spring.I named it Raspberries because that is where my inspiration has come from. This first one is a bold raspberry lip, with a shimmery neutral eye. You won't find a lot of dramatic looks from me, since I am not really that into eyeshadow. I used a lot of my Elf products I received in my haul last weekend. Enjoy!
1. Start off with clean skin. Moisturize/Prime. Apply a foundation of your choice. I applied MAC studio Fix Fluid in NC42
2. Apply E.L.F Studio Line Bronzer in Warm on the cheeks, sweep of the nose as well.
3. Apply E.L.F Blush in Mellow Muave on the cheeks.
4. Sweep a light gold/ buttery eyeshadow on the entire lid. I used E.L.F Studio Line Eyeshadow in Buttercream with an E.L.F Studio Line Eyeshadow brush.
5. Finish off the simple eye look with a mascara. I used E.L.F Mineral Mascara in Black
6. Seal the look with a setting powder. I used E.L.F High Definition Powder.
7. Now for the lips, Moisturize first.. I used E.L.F Mineral Lipstick in Pouty Petal.
8. For shine, apply an E.L.F lipgloss in Juiced Berry.

Hair Chit Chat: Garnier Fructis =)

Hi dolls, I have been meaning to buy new shampoo and conditioner since I am almost out. I have been using Tigi Catwalk Oatmeal and Honey Shampoo and Conditioner. I usually order my hair products from online lol, but I have gotten my mom into the hair game and she actually chucked out her suave...( nothing against suave) and loves the catwalk line. 80 percent of the time the shampoo/cond. duo I get is Bedhead. If not Bedhead, at least Tigi. And I get the one with the big pumps...I am going to buy Dumb Blonde, works great! In the mean time, found my self wandering around the drugstore trying to find a substitute and remembered an old favorite I used to use when I was like in 6th grade haha...Garnier Fructis. The products were on sale for 3 for 9.99, so I bought three of them. I bought...

1. Garnier Fructis Color Shield Shampoo

2. Garnier Fructis Color Shield Conditioner

3. Garnier Fructis Color Shield Leave in Conditioner

I remembered why I loved this line sooo much! Melted the knots right out of my hair. The smell is a strong fruity smell, which can get kind of sickning after awhile lol..why I haven't used it in ages..but when you revisit this smell...it is sooooo yummy.. I feel like this conditioner does make my hair stronger...and it penetrates into the hair instead of laying on the shaft like Pantene...

I'm still going to order my Bed Head shampoos with the lovely salon pump, but this is a bangin back up!
What do you think of Garnier Fructis?? I'm honestly curious. Leave your two cents..and don't forget to mention hair type/texture as well! Have a great day!

Easy Homemade Olive Oil Hair Treatment

Hey all, I haven't bought any hair or makeup products in a great while, besides my scrapbook shelf I use for my makeup storage courtesy of Target. I have recently gotten a color retouch, since I enjoyed my color so much. I asked for a warm golden brown with golden honey highlights. The 2nd time I had foiled, the highlights came out slightly lighter, with more of a buttery tone. Since I color my hair usually every 8 weeks, yes I know long time..I treat my hair in some way. This has been the cheapest treatment I could find, That actually did something for my hair. My hair is very healthy right now. So, here's the recipe and directions. Enjoy!
Warning- This treatment isn't for every hair color. It is fine for deep shades of hair, but for lighter shades it can darken your hair. I have been using it to create some depth to my hair since I think my hair color came out too light. This is good to use to darken as well as a coffe rinse will do the trick.

Recipe:
Olive Oil ( enough to saturate the entire head)
2 squirts of Organic Honey( Only if you have curly hair)
Apple Cider Vinegar ( in the scalp if hair is fine)

Start off with slightly damp hair ( warm water) especially drenched with water at the ends. Saturate the hair with warm olive oil...comb through with a wide tooth comb. If you have curly hair, work in some honey for a texturizer to make your ringlets springy. If you have hair that is fine, and is known to look greasy, saturate hair with the olive oil, but skip the scalp. Massage apple cider vinegar to the scalp for bounce and shine. Put on shower cap. Let it penetrate for 15- 20 minutes minimum. Rinse out shampoo as usual.

Review: Sedu Revolution Flat Iron

(Image courtesy of Flat Iron Reviews.com)

Hey beauties! I had invested quite a bit of money last month into purchasing a new (top quality) flat iron...I had been using the chi I got for my 17th birthday from my aunt for quite some time now. I am now 18 years old. So, senior year to freshman in college. I had no complaints about my chi, I thought it worked excellently and everyone says its cheaply made and doesn't last long. So glad I got a good year out of it until the straightening power began to fade. I still own it, because it still works, just not as well as when I first used it. So, I went on Folica.com...heard great reviews about this thing, and decided to give it a go.

Price: $139.00
Ratings: 4.5 out of 5 stars I believe...

This flat iron looked so sleek on folica.com, but when I received mine it looked almost cheap...I bought mine in pink..i don't know if that's why. But I decided to give this a chance anyways.

PROS
- It's a great flat iron. I noticed this Sedu ran more smoother through my hair than the Chi, that's what the product's claim was anyways..and for the price I expected that.
-It has a two year warranty that the Chi doesn't offer.
- It comes with a heat proof mat through Folica.com

CONS
- The performance of the flat iron in comparison to the price..is so, so...the Chi cost 60 dollars..and works just the same..139.00 seemed way overpriced for this product
- Some people might see this as a Pro, but I hate that it comes with a temperature setting, I liked that the Chi did not..
- When you put it to the highest setting, you get this gross smell of burnt hair you cannot believe... I never had that problem with my chi
- My hair frizzes more with this product, I don't know if it's the iron or my hair...

Overall, good product I believe. I would probably take it back though if I wasn't so lazy. I like the Chi better.

Would I repurchase?- No.
Would I recommend this to a friend? I wouldn't recommend it..but if they had their heart set on buying it..the only thing i would have to say is it is overpriced.

Xoxoxo Jenna.

5 Makeup Products I can't Stand !!!

Hey Darlings, Hope you had a nice Easter. I spent the day with my mom in Boston shopping, and we later met up with my boyfriend and took the t to the north side to eat at an italian bistro. Surprisingly I did not spend too much money, BUT I luckily came across The Body Shop, which is not close to my home at all. Whenever I buy body shop products, I buy via online..Anyways I have been wanting to try their Tea Tree line of skincare foreverrrrr so I picked up the Tea Tree Skin Clearing Facial Wash..and saved myself the shipping. I will have to do a review soon! What I have been doing, is trying to clear out all my bad makeup to make room for new stuff since I am updating the storage in my room. I thought this would be an interesting post to share with you, to maybe save you the trouble..I understand not every product works the same for everyone, so if you like any of these then more power to you! I am not doing any brand bashing, I'm just sharing with you products I have been dissatisfied with.

1. Smashbox Bionic Mascara: I had purchased this from Sephora during the holiday season, for 19 dollars. To be honest I wasn't expecting it to be the greatest mascara because of the price, you know how we tend to be less frugal during the holiday season, but ALL I WAS EXPECTING WAS A MASCARA THAT DID NOT CLUMP. It left chunks on my lashes that not even the cheapest drugstore mascara I have used...has ever done this. It did not lengthen. It did not volumize. It just made a mess. You can get your lashes to look enhanced and pretty decent if you play with this mascara, and if you are very careful about the application technique. but I don't want to sit their for twenty minutes carefully applying mascara. I just want to put it on, and go!! Also, the packaging is so strange..you close it all the way...as far as it can go..and when you have opened the package..mascara clumps leak out..I haven't thrown it away yet though, cuz I found a use for it..I use it for my bottom lashes..and it works pretty good.
2. Covergirl Clean Makeup for Sensitive Skin in Soft Honey: First of all, I have never been a fan of Covergirl..so I don't know why I bothered, but you never know right? This makeup doesn't even look like flesh tones...it looks like brown and beige acrylic paint to me, and the application reminds me of such. It made my face break out...from the bottle I had a hard time figuring out what undertones were available..Not cool.
3. Covergirl TruBlend Liquid Foundation in Soft Honey: I'm sorry, I swear this isn't bash Covergirl day, but these made my face a greasy mess. The color did not even match, with covergirl they only offer lighter shades with darker shades...no deep medium shades that work for me..I have a yellow undertone..but Covergirl makes me look soo orange. Not a good buy for me. My mother never wears foundation, but she does own this one..and has had no complaints. My mom has a deep skin tone, with normal to dry skin..no breakouts, what do you think of Trublend?
4. Wet n Wild Mega Protein Mascara: This is a dupe for Maybelline Colossal. First before I start bashing this, let me say it was only 1.99. It comes in a cute white and teal tube. It stinks..but that didn't bother me because so did the colossal. It volumized surprisingly well, with no clumps! The reason why I hate this eye product is after several usages..it irritated my eyes terribly. Red as a rose!! I thought it was my contact solution, but this was the culprit. Just what I need, full lashes and red eyes!!!!!
5. Milani Color Perfect Lipstick in Bonfire: Bonfire is a deep red...and this lipstick was cheap and comes in cheap gold packaging. Rich color, went on creamy, but starting bleeding in a matter of minutes. Not even a lip liner could do the trick...what a runny inexpensive formula..I don't care if it was only 4 dollars, I have 99 cent Wet n Wild lipsticks with better quality =)

Anyways, those are my five products that have been invited to my garbage party. I am not positive if I have a bias against Covergirl or not, the only products I can tolerate from them are the eyeshadows, I am curious, What do you think of the Covergirl brand?

What products can you absolutely not use, I would love to know to save myself the hassle!

Celebrity Spotlight:Jessica Simpson

You Call This Fat!!?

Hi Dolls, I haven't bought magazines in a while so I decided to pick up an Allure magazine ( March Issue) and who did I see, but the beautiful Jessica Simpson!!! After reading the article on her I have come to realize how much I really love and admire Jessica Simpson. I don't think Jessica ever got the credit she deserved. In the earlier days, think Newlyweds and Dukes of Hazzard she was always out to please everyone else..but with all the romance drama ( Tony Romo, divorce, Mayor, blah blah blah Adam Levine) and all the bashing from the media, and fans..I feel like Ms. Simpson has given up! THANK God!!!! She was told at the airport by a fan, Heyyy you don't look fat at all. And Jessica responded with a "wow Thanks I am not fat today"I was a little disappointed in her when they bashed the pic of her above with the TIGHT tucked in shirt saying she looked chubby, and she immediately lost 10 lbs...wow Jessica..I just have to say she looked damn good! Curvy! Jessica has reached her breaking point, and I feel as if she is blossoming in the person she is meant to be. I remember in the 90's when she would try to fit in with Britney Spears and Aguilera with revealing outfits, that she didn't look comfortable in at all. In my opinion, what makes Jessica so beautiful is how "simple" or average she is. She is just the girl next door. She is very smart girl (yes not dumb, just goofy and real)with great values. Does anyone else think Jessica Simpson is absolutely gorgeous? My favorites shots of her are by the paparazzi when she has no makeup on and a sloppy ponytail. What a beautiful face!!!! And with Jess's new show the Price of Beauty, I feel like she is really getting in touch with the true meaning of beautiful. You Go Girl!!!! As for her sister Ashlee..ehhhh..lol
What do you guys think about Jessica Simpson?? I'm honestly curious.

Honey and Lemon Facial Mask

Happy Monday Guys, I know I have been on a bit on a skincare kick, so I apologize for the lack of diversity. On my blog I just like to share with my followers what I am into at the time being. I am saving up my cash to go spring shopping, so I will have a post sharing my new styles with you soon! I just finished my Philosophy quiz online that I promised myself I would do, even though I hatttttttte philosophy, but I did get a 100! Sorry for blabbing.Anyways, this is a honey and lemon facial mask that has been doing great things for my face. I haven't bought any new skincare products because I love the control I get from making my own. I want it to be known that any of my recipes I offer on my blog can be easily adjusted for your skin type. I have oily/combination skin that is sensitive..so a lot of the ingredients can be removed..lemon, lime, tomato, witch hazel..etc. any of those ingredients I use in my concoctions are all natural astrigents to be used for oil control..with that said...if you have normal to dry skin, perhaps you might want to skip these!!
Ingredients...

1 Tablespoon of Wild Harvest Organic Wildflower Honey ( Shaw's) You must used organic!! Processed honey won't have the same effect
Lemon Juice ( freshly squeezed from a half of a lemon)

Lemon Juice is an excellent natural toner which cleanses the pores. It also has natural bleaching properties..so it is excellent for smoothing out dark marks...such as acne scars...I would know!!
Honey is an excellent source of moisture to nourish the skin..no matter your skin type..It won't clog your pores..honey is a natural antispetic...it helps ease inflamed/ sore blemishes..
I put this mask on one of two ways, depending on my skin...sometimes I will put the lemon juice on first to my face..let sit for two minutes, and then apply honey. Another way is to mix the lemon juice onto the face and leave on for 15 minutes.
You will love the results!!!

Happy Monday everybody...hope it isn't too terrible.

Homemade Brown Sugar Scrub:Body and Face Exfoliant.

Hey All, Sorry I haven't blogged in awhile, but I couldn't really think of anything exciting to share with you guys..lol..it's been the same old business lately. Well I have been using up all of the skincare products that I have in order to buy new ones...I ran out of my Tree Hut Shea Brown Sugar Body Scrub, and happend to come up with this concoction as a quick fix, since I need a scrub badly but didn't have the means or the time to go pick one up! Little did I know, the scrub I made in my kitchen sink with hot water I actually prefer!! I enjoy making a lot of my own skincare products, but seldom do because it can get messy. I just put this scrub right into the old Tree Hut container, and back into my shower on the shelf..
Ingredients.....
Brown Sugar ( amount depends on container you use, I filled it up half waywith a combo of l&d)
Light Brown Sugar
Dark Brown Sugar
2 Teaspoons of Olive Oil
1 Teaspoon Lime Juice
1 Teaspoon Lemon Juice
4 squirts of Honey ( Conditioning agent, texturizer)
Optional Grapeseed Oil ( 1/2 tsp)
Okay since my brown sugar was a little old..and clumpy I had to moisten it with warm water in the kitchen sink and have it "melt" into my hands and into the container..I did this with both sugars..and then added in the other ingredients..I found it lacked texture, so I added honey to keep the ingredients together..I used this scrub when washing my face with a Green Tea cleanser (to ban irritation) and my skin came out baby smooth!! I am not positive how it would work on sensitive skin, since I have oily skin that is known for taking a beating ( considering all the makeup I wear, and when I get lazy about caring for the skin) But you sensitive skin girls should try it out, and let me know what you think!! A lot of people say sugar scrubs are too harsh and scratch the skin. I will admit..this one did feel more harsh than the Tree Hut..but for the baby smooth results I don't care!!!
Are their any quick fixes for the face you like to find in your kitchen??? =)

End of a Makeup Era Organic SkinCare!!

Helllllllllo again. I have decided that I am going to stop purchasing makeup for several months. I am deciding this because I only bring a pencil case full of makeup to school..which includes a black liquid liner, a lip butter, MAC hug me, and Plush Lash....I use two foundations MAC studio Fix fluid..and Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse in Honey Beige medium 4..I never considered myself someone who depends on foundation for clear skin...until I went home and forgot my Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse at school. What terrible skin I noticed! All kinds of dark marks.,..and I could feel acne coming on...its amazing what a bit of makeup can do to fix your skin...I wear very little...Anyways I am deciding to trade in My makeup hauls for skincare hauls...and I want to go organic...

I am looking into the sites below...

www.pangeaorganics.com
www.nealsyard.com
www.burtsbees.com
www.thebodyshop.com (Nutriganics????)
www.aubreycosmetics.com
www.sephora.com
www.olehenriksen.com

Has anyone tried organic face products..I am really interested...not to be conceited but I think my face is attractive without makeup and I'm sick of covering it up =)

Anyone else want to take the skincare with me?????

Drugstore Dollar Days =)

Hey beauties! I have been doing a lot of drugstore shopping because I haven't had a significant amount of money left over from my paychecks because of bills and car stuff and all...so I have been stumbling around the drugstore for a few weeks now..and I know it is nerdy to say but I have gotten such good buys They have excited me!! Here, Now I share them with you!!!

Essence of Beauty Creme Butter in Creamy Fig - This is my most favorite item I have gotten in a great while!!!!This is a moisturizing body butter, which comes in a circular casing.. I bought this at CVS on clearance ( yes they have clearance items there) for $1.50 !!! These are honestly comparable to the quality of the Body Shop body butters, which run for 20.00...My favorite part is the scent! It is light, yet alluring. It is definitely a GREAT add to my collection because it's like nothing I have ever smelled before. Fig is an unusal scent. Anyways, they were so dirt cheap I decided to buy three of them...Creamy Fig, Sensual Amber, Gardenia Flower or something. I gave the flower one to my mom. Only thing is, I am unsure of the usual price..so you might want to check the clearance rack.

Soft Lips Rose Tinted Lip Conditioner- This reminds me of the Neutrogena lipsticks because they aren't that pigmented..this conditions my lips, and leaves a hint of color...for when I don't feel like wearing a nude lipstick.. I recommend this..I got it for $1.99

Dickinson's Witch Hazel Facial Toner- This is regularly 4.99, but i got it for 1.99 on a special. I think it's a skincare item shoppers frequently disregard so its always on sale..When I used this...I couldn't believe how dirty my skin was..( I wash my face 2-3 times per day, moisturize, exfoliate, AND mask) I laugh because the only product my boyfriend uses is soap..but when I use only soap it makes my face feel dirty, he used this and you can't imagine the dirt and grime on his face
..definitely detoxifys the skin..if you want a toner that does the job for cheap, go with dickinson's.

CVS Brand Cotton Rounds- I bought these to use on my face with my toner..I bought the big pack for 2.99, but their is a smaller pack for cheaper, work far better than cotton balls!

NYC color Classic Eyeliner Pencil (in) In the Navy- Over the summer, I go through these blue pencils like water! I buy at least 5- 10 of them... I use blue eyeliner a lot in the summer..for an updated modern version of the 80's look itself..I do blue liner on the bottom...sometimes gold liner on top..tons of mascara...with a mango lippie. It's sexy! I'll do a tutorial perhaps...It is only 99 cents! I burn the pencil to soften the pigments because cheap eyeliner pencils usually scratch the eye..but the burn trick..prevents this..and if you don't like the traditional pencils..they have an automatic pencil..I use Brazen Blue...for $2.99.

The Best Mark and Avon Products

Hi, again.. This post was requested by Jenny, and I think it is a good follow up post to my previous. First I want to make clear, Yes I am a Mark Representative. Yes, I am an Avon representative..But I am also a full time college student, and I have another job on top of selling beauty products...so selling these items are a HOBBY for me. Therefore, I am completely honest when I am reviewing their products, and I do not lie. I do not give products credit they do not deserve. Also, this is my personal opinion! I also want to let you know that No, I don't own every single Mark and Avon product. I use tons of different makeup brands so I will actually have something to compare them to, Anyways here are my absolute favorites..since stepping into the Avon game!! xoxo Jenna.
Avon is a great company to become hooked on because all products are always on sale!!P.S yes, that is Lauren Conrad!
1. Meet Mark Shine Fighter Oil-Control Mask:($8.00) I know this isn't a makeup item, But I had to put it anyways. It is your typical green mask with a clay consistency, but their is one aspect to this product that makes it so special. When it is ready to be washed off, it dries almost white. The thing I love about this mask is how ridiculously easy it is to take off. It has a softer consistency rinsing with warm water, but it still tightens your pores. I usually use the Mint Julep Masque by Queen Helene...but sometimes it is just annoying to take off if I am not going into the shower. Also, it removes oil without feeling dry..and it's almost like it has hydrating properties. 4 out of 5*
2. Avon Beyond Color Plumping Lip Color SPF 15 in Peach Daiquiri ($8.00 but always on sale!)I purchased mine for 3.99. To be honest, this is the only shade I have tried because the most lipsticks I have are in the peach and nude families. I haven't tried any shades with rich pigment such as hot pinks or reds..The problem I have with inexpensive lipsticks is that really pigmented shades tend to bleed. You might want to look into this...But I absolutely love the look of full lips, this shade compliments my skin tone(NC40-42), and it really does plump your lips without the annoying stinging. The packaging isn't bad either..silvery chrome tube...way better than the packaging on Loreal's lipsticks, which I hate!! I would recommend this lipstick its great for the price!!! 4 out of 5 *
3. Mark Bronze Pro Bronzing Powder in Pro Golden ($10.00) Okay, so this is my new favorite bronzer that I use. First off, it comes in three shades which I appreciate because not everyone can use the same shade of bronzer. This is a matte bronzer with no shimmer...which I appreciate for many purposes. I mainly use this bronzer as a contour, to add more dimension to my face. When I'm looking for more shimmer I use my Cargo Beach...or Victoria's Secret Shimmer Powder in Truth or Dare. This bronzer doesn't have that ugly orange tint to it, and it actually looks somewhat natural. I use it on my cheekbones and down my nose to make it appear more narrow. Awesome buy. The pink and black packaging is soooo cute! 4 out of 5*
4.Avon Satin Gel Eyeliner in Black Pearl ($8.00) always on sale, I received mine for $4.99, I prefer the look and application of creme liner, though looking for a great creme liner can sometimes be a project. I have found with creme liners you get what you pay for! and the trick is to find one with enough pigmentation and smoothness..so it doesn't crack or streak, I replaced my MAC fluid Line..with Loreal HIP creme Liner which is ($13.00)..though I happend to get lucky and get it for 5. This Avon will be replacing my HIP liner..because it works just the same and is way cheaper! 4 out of 5*
5. Avon Smooth Minerals Blush in Golden Glow and Rose Radiance ($5.99) I really really, love these blushes! Golden Glow is a neutral Peach while rose radiance is a doll like muted rose... I couldn't ask for a better blush for $5.99. They go on smooth, and natural..yet they are buildable. I can go for a natural or dramatic look. These are awesome because they remind me of my BareMinerals Collection Pots, which I found super convenient because they fit in my pencil case with ease! Also, this blush didn't make my face itch like some mineral powders! 5 out of 5 *
6. Avon Smooth Minerals Concealer in Medium Deep ($4.99) Okay so, when I had my Bare Minerals Kit I tried using the foundation itself with the concealer brush..and I figured it would work just the same. did not understand how a powder could be a concealer..but the light reflecting pigments in Bare Minerals, in a concentrated amount..actually emphasized the pimple instead of concealing. I was going to try the BareMinerals Concealer in the Matte Formula..but it was too expensive for me when I figured it wouldn't even work. So, I bought the Avon 5 dollar one..and I am so glad I did! When I have a big blemish..this covers far better than my Coastal Scents Creme Concealer Palette..sometimes I have to use both..and it doesn't aggravate my skin! 5 out of 5 *

How to save money and still have an awesome makeup collection.

Hi Beauties! So, we all love makeup, and we would all love to blow 500 bucks at Sephora ( which would be ridiculously easy to do) but we know we cannot do that. So, how do we obtain all the high quality products we desire without breaking the bank? Here are a few tips I have configured in order to be able to indulge in what you want without being broke.

Tip 1: Go through what you already have. If it's old, definitely get rid of it. If you don't use it get rid of it. If it's a cheap blush you bought for 3 dollars at Rite Aid out of boredom, you guessed it, get rid of it!

Tip 2: Analyze your makeup styles. Create different "faces" that work well on you, when you have mastered a combo of products you like on your face, remember it. Example...smokey eye look with nude lips. After looking at your typical looks, remember your makeup style...is it mostly au naturale, or do you always rock bedroom eyes.?If you go au naturale 80 percent of the time, then their is no point in spending extra cash on that Stila Black Shadow you will probably never use.

Tip 3: Decide when to "dupe" and when not to dupe. Sometimes purchasing dupes isn't the way to save yourself money. Sometimes you just have to spend the extra cash on the real thing...Chances are if you try the dupe and are not satisfied..you are bound to buy the real thing anyways For example, many girls claim Milani Blush in Luminous is an excellent dupe to NARS blush in Orgasm. No it isn't. You are going to buy the Milani for 7 dollars, and end up spending the 26 for Nars anyways. Just buy the Nars. It lasts much longer. When it comes to creme liner, do the dupe. Don't buy MAC creme liner for 16.50, their is no point to do so...Nobody is going to be able to tell the difference...just make sure you buy a liner that doesn't streak or crack with pigmentation and your good...A dupe for MAC is Loreal HIP creme liner...I got it for 5 dollars on sale, wait until it goes on sale...the jar is far bigger than the MAC for 16.50..and it has the same awesome pigmentation...Midnight Blue is my favorite.

Tip 4: Don't fall for "fancy" mascaras.... It is a waste of money. Chanel and Givenchy are going to do the same thing all mascaras do...enhance your lashes..even if they do lengthen, and volumize beautifully without flake..or clump...if you are going to get dramatic lashes for 28.00 like with Chanel Imitable, you might as well buy fake lashes, and just go over it once with a drugstore mascara. Another reason to not spend $19.00 and up on a mascara is, mascaras are supposed to be thrown out within 3 months. I do my sooner because I have sensitive eyes. I use Rimmel London mascaras faithfully 6-9 dollars(drugstore)..or I use MAC Plush Lash (12.00)...I do not mind spending 12 dollars on MAC mascaras because it is only a three dollar difference from drugstore..I will buy DiorShow on SPECIAL occasions. Definitely not everyday thing.

Tip 5: Do not be afraid to shop items on clearance: I do this when I am shopping on Sephora online. My first assumption was they were trying to get rid of all the "junkie" makeup, which may be true for some items, but with a lot of items..the price decreases because it is too high in the first place. Example: Korres Limited Editon Mango Lip Collection...21 dollars..awesome lipsticks..on sale because no one cares about Korres brand ..don't be afraid to try new brands. To have an awesome makeup collection you have to have variety..no makeup line is an expert in every area. So buy from MAC for shadows, NARS for blushes and concealers...etc.

Tip 6: Don't be afraid of makeup sales lines like Mark and Avon: I sell both Mark, and Avon...and don't be fooled by the prices and crazy sales, a lot of these products are comparable to higher end brands..and then again some aren't. It's all trial and era. Avon has some amazing lipsticks with cute packaging...for like 5-8 dollars...So purchase those high end lipsticks in shades you can't put down, and for other daring shades you might wanna try buy them from Avon to save your cash. If your not going to wear amplified orange everyday, which I doubt you are, save your 14 dollars!

Tip 7: Clean, and Disinfect the packaging of your makeup items frequently: I do this to increase the longevity and cleanliness of my products. If I am spending money, often quite a bit of money, I like to take care of them. Don't let them get all messy...messy makeup is gross and a breathing ground for bacteria. After using a product several times, say like a Nars blush compact, I will take a disinfectant, clean the case, and wipe of the excess pigments that have spilled. Clean makeup covers...clean lipsticks smears on the tube...everything. You will be surprised!

Tip 8: Preserve Labels on clear compacts with Nail Polish..one thing I hate about drugstore compacts is with continued use, the label with the brand begins to fade..and sometimes completely disappear..it has to do with the oils of your fingers always touching. This happend to my Neutrogena shadow duos..the Neutrogena label..came right off. I prevent this by tracing either the letters themselves with clear nail polish...or a streak right over it..it drys kind of cloudy if you don't mind that. I did this for my NYC bronzer too. If your makeup looks good, you are less likely to replace it. This helps you save money because it prevents you from replacing items that do not need to be replaced.

Tip 9: Determine how "advanced" of a makeup artist you are... Are you the girl who plays with 500 eyeshadows for one look? or are you the black eyeliner on the bottom lashes and lip balm type of girl? If you do a simple look everyday, there is no reason you should be on MACs website trying to buy every single blending brush they have..don't do it...waste of money...If you do dramatic eye looks every once inawhile..like around holidays...opt for way cheaper brushes..People on Youtube do makeup everyday....doesn't mean you have to. My favorite line of inexpensive brushes are Sonia Kashuk for Target. They don't shed, they are soft..and serve their purpose...She just came out with a bamboo collection thats adorable..and she has starter sets for 20 dollars.

Tip 10: Lip Butter and Chapstick are the best lip primers...I use nothing else. These two are cheap, and can save you around 5-25 dollars, depending on how fancy of a lip primer you buy!

Tip 11: Take Excellent care of your skin...This can save you tons of money. If your skin is in tip, top shape, foundation goes on appropriately and you use far less than regularly would. Foundation is not going to Give you beautiful skin..I don't care what brand it is. Foundation is cover up. Period. So,if you have less to cover up, you don't have to buy that Dior Foundation and can settle for a cheap brand that does the trick. Without moisturized, and hydrated skin, foundation will not go on right. Taking care of your skin doesn't have to be expensive. Just make sure your pores are clear. A lot of skincare stuff I get from around the house... Olive Oil is an excellent hydrater for the skin, Oatmeal is a great exfoliater, Lemon juice is a great toner that evens out dark marks. Invest in a cheap benzoyl peroxide cream, and believe you will be able to find a drugstore brand of foundation that does the trick.

Tip 12: Find a drugstore brand you really TRULY like...I use high end brands mostly, but I am in love with Rimmel London.Honestly girls its like my hobby. Their lipsticks are cute, mascaras are awesome...but I haven't tried foundation yet sorry. My favorite lipstick from them is the Rimmel London Moisture Moisture Renew in Spotlight Beige..its an excellent dupe for MAC lustre shine lipstick..in Cosmo.

Tip 13: Save Your CVS extra bucks: There are so many good deals. You want to save on your drugstore staples so you have more cash for indulging in pricier items. I got Rimmel London in Spotlight Beige today for $3.34..regularly $6.99 per lipstick...kind of a 2 for 1 deal !

Tip 14: Be on the Lookout for sales at Ulta: You can get a lot of good deals, samples, and freebies...last time I checked they were giving away Urban Decay Eye Pencils with Urban Decay purchases.

Is the no shampoo way, really the healthiest thing for your hair?

Hello...okay so here's the story. I've been trying to take better care of my care and shampoo it less cuz it is curly and blah blah blah whatever else crazy things they have to say about curly hair..oh yah and use a wide tooth comb even though it rips my ends when my soft brush doesn.t =0 anywho, I have been investing cash into the Devacurl line, which has a cleanser free of sulfates and cleansing agents...I have the "low poo" cleanser. I have even been thinking of the Wen. Lately I have been shampooing with Catwalk Oatmeal and Honey Shampoo three times a week, with 2 pumpx minimum. This is going to sound retarded, and I don't want you guys to think I'm strange, But sometimes I like when my boyfriend shampoos my hair in the sink because he gives me a scalp massage. He did it today...and used 8 pumps of shampoo..and scrubbed for a really long time! I could have killed him. My hair felt like old hayy. Then, I put lots of conditioner to try and make up for the shampoo madness...

I detangled my hair...applied Neutrogena UV leave in cream....with a little bit of Garnier Fructis Sleek Serum...and scrunched a bit... OMG WAS MY HAIR SO RIDICULOUSLY SOFT!!!!!! Neutrogena creme has always done wonders for my hair, except for lately. It has been feeling like no matter what wonder product I apply to my hair...my hair rejects it. When my neutrogena creme stopped working, I thought it was something with the bottle/formula..But what I have come to realize ladies ( and gents) is Shampoo is not bad for your hair!!!!!! You need to shampoo your hair....My boyfriend cleansing my hair so well, is probably what got rid of...what I suspect as product buildup in my hair...I have always been afraid of shampoo..apply very little ...and rinse out very quickly...Yes, shampoo can be drying...but...only if you do this everyday. If you shampoo like this let's say...once a month for someone who uses a lot of styling products...and once every 8 weeks for ppl with tight ringlets..or who dont use styling products..

Still not into shampoo? Try a vinegar treatment instead. Vinegar is super healthy for the hair.. Just leave 10 minutes and rinse. It restores hair's Ph..and removes product buildup.

I think I have dropped trying to go the "no poo" way. My curls have never felt softer, bouncier, and healthier...I'm going to be asking for a scalp scrubdown one a month now lol =)

Just be careful. Like junk food, shampoo should be used in moderation =)

Article on no shampooing and co washing ( wash hair with conditioner)

P.S For the vinegar...either try apple cider vinegar, or regular vinegar...Don't try balsamic..its a stupid thing to do, I should know =) Also, the smell rinses with warm water.

Review: Neutrogena Healthy Skin Liquid Makeup

Okay, so I have to admit this is probably my favorite foundation available at the drugstore. It cost ranges from around 11-14 dollars, depending on where you shop. I've been using this on and off since I was 16. I am now 18. Forewarning, this foundation isn't for everybody. If you need lots of coverage..this probably isn't for you.
Pros.
1. Low Cost
2. Cute Packaging
3. Gentle on your skin
4. Kickbutt staying power for a drugstore found.
5. SPF 20 in the product
6. Product claim: Rich in antioxidants and improves skin..( which it did for me)
Cons.
1. Shades lean towards people with warm undertones more so..so some ppl might have problems trying to find the correct shade for their skin
2. Runny formula can get messy trying to apply with a brush
3. Neutrogena doesn't offer too many dark shades I think the darkest is around tan, which is a bummer because everybody should able to try this awesome foundation
4. Light to medium buildable coverage...which might not suit some people..because a lot of ppl have problem areas to cover...BUT I will say this foundation does improve your skin tremendously...wearing it everyday helped even out my skin even when I washed the makeup off.
5. Difficult to apply with cheap makeup sponge...some of the product absorbs into the sponges I use unlike some thicker formulas..you might want to use a stippling brush for great application..But If you can purchase a better quality sponge..it works great. I recommend Sonia Kashuk blending sponges.
Overall, one of my favorite foundations for going to work...it reminds me of a tinted moisturizer because the formula is so light. Even out of the higher end cover up products I use, I keep coming back to this foundation every now and then, you should definitely try it! My shade is honey beige, and I bought it at CVS for 12 bucks. Can't go wrong!

Moroccan Oil, What's the Deal with this stuff?

Hey beauties! So, several weeks back I was super excited to receive all my Moroccan Oil products I purchased from Amazon..I only bought it because of the free shipping...I bought the trial size of Moroccan Oil..just in case I hated it..its 12 bucks for the tiny bottle. Then I bought the Moroccan Oil intense hydrating mask, and then the styling creme for my moms which she hasn't used yet...First off, I am 100 percent aware that this isnt 100 percent pure argan oil lol..but I didn't care. If it has silicones in it, and its going to make my hair look better...then more power to the product...only...after using this for awhile...I am definitely not amazed. I actually hate this product! I've found that products people complain about, I find to be lovely...EX: MAC foundations, Bare Minerals Foundations, Herbal Essences Hair Mousses, and that cheap Maybelline mascara in the pink and green tube which my best friend despises haha...anyways off topic...At first, I thought it might be because I was using too much of the product....so by the time I cut the amount used..i got down to a little less then dime size. This did nothing for my ends. It cuts the drying time for my hair...which for some people that's great, but I hate it. I'm used to having thick hair, and after getting out of the shower..being able to do a few things without even brushing my hair and applying product, but with this by the time I get to style my hair it has already started drying. It also makes my hair feel much thinner than it is..it loses body..and my hair becomes too "pliable" if this makes sense. I'm such an oddball. First, I hated Biosilk, and now I hate this stuff. The 4 dollar Garnier Fructis Oil does my hair so much more justice... I won't even go into the mask ...I will do a review on it..But...not the greatest mask either...I am going to try Eden Allure 100 percent Argan Oil...everyone who I have chatted with said Moroccan Oil, was great..

What do you think about Moroccan oil???

Top Products for a Natural Face

Hey all! I know to all of us on blogger and YouTube, makeup is our complete hobby! When I think about it, 3/4 of my makeup is rarely touched. It's just a hobby to collect all of these goodies. When I like to look fresh faced, which is 70 percent of the time...after showering I moisturize my skin and see my face is just missing "something" here are the products I use just to even out my skin tone and make me look alive...On a daily basis my makeup is minimum.

1. Evening out my Skintone.... I use one pump of Revlon PhotoReady Foundation in Golden Beige mixed in with Olay Complete Plus Ultra Rich Moisture Lotion which I stole from my mom lol. I like the light reflecting pigments in this foundation..but I feel the concentrated amount goes on way to shimmery. So, mixing this with a moisturizer is the way to go for me..to still look natural but get some coverage. If, I don't have this moisturizer, I have also used Lancome Paris Imance Environmental Protectant Cream in Bronze..which I also stole from my mom...it is way too dark for my skintone..but I use it anyway..I just use a very little amount..and it makes me look tanned.
2. For my lips...I always apply Essence of Beauty Lip Butter in Peach Apricot..with a lip brush.
3. For a sheer flush....my favorite blush in Nars Gina, but the pigment formula is too concentrated for everyday. With one swoop of the brush you get crazy color payoff..and I don't like to blend for days...so My favorite blush for everyday is Mac Springsheen...just a little amount on the apples of the cheeks.
4. As for eyes, I don't wear eyeshadow on a day to day basis...all I do is apply 2 coats of Mac Plush lash...and if I look really tired...I will apply a brown liquid eyeliner and wing it out to make my lashline pop.

That's the products I use when I am going to school, out for errands, work, and those many study sessions at the library. Only place I wear no makeup is the gym.. and to bed..

What are some of your everyday natural products you like to use? I love the input of others! I am getting bored with this 3 minute makeup routine lol

Curly Girl Haul =)

Hi !! So, lately I've been abusing my hair lately and I realized when I shop for hair products, I only purchase products for damaged hair or a hydrating product..besides cheap curling mousses from the drugstore I use when I don't feel like doing my hair. So, I've decided to try to get my curls to look their best. My curly hair inspiration is definitely leona lewis, because they are so springy and shiny. I have a similar hair type to her, so maybe i can get my hair to look as healthy as her. A lot of ppl say I look like her..and I can kinda see...but she has bone structure to die for ! I was unfortunately not blessed with that =( Anyways, I hit TJ Maxx and Trade Secret and Regis Salon..3 days ago.

Heres what I purchased....

1. Bed Head Foxy Curls Conditioner $ 11.99( for a 25 oz) - TJ Maxx

2. Chi Iron Guard Heat Protectant Spray - $5.99 TJ Maxx ( Protect my curls from heat)

3. CatWalk Curls Rock Curl Amplifier - $12.99- Trade Secret

4. DevaCurl Moisture Lock Set It Free Spray- $17.95- Trade Secret

5. CatWalk Oatmeal and Honey Shampoo and Conditioner Duo ($22.00 set to prevent damage)

Okay, now to speak about my experience with these products.

First off, I highly highly recommend the Foxy Curls conditioner...it smells EXACTLY like Skittles, and it has thicker texture unlike the majoirty of Bed Head conditioners which have that "slick quid..." texture. The texture reminds me of Pantene Prov, only this conditioner actually does something for your hair and doesn't just lay on the hair shaft. Also, when combing my hair the knots came out like butter..I don't know if it protects the ends though..

Chi Iron Guard smells amazing, and it helped my Chi flat iron glide through my hair more smoothly than a serum does. I'm not using serums for heat styling anymore.

Catwalk curl amplifier is okay..smells really good..but if you use too much it leaves your hair crunchy..didn't expect this with a creme...i would expect that for a gel..but a lot of ppl love this so im going to experiment more with this before I completely give up on it...It does inflate your curls...which if they dry frizzy its not attractive. If they are smooth it is..I feel this product is trial and era =)

DevaCurl works wonders...if you know how to use the product which a lot of people do not...I use this as a curl refresher..and curl shaper when diffusing..it has a lemon lime scent that works wonderfully in conjunction with the Foxy Curls...my hair is bouncy, and shiny..and smells like skittles all day.

Oatmeal and Honey Shampoo and Conditioner...smells like Gingerbread cookies. Awesome...to use around the holidays. Kinda rich smell for summer which is approaching...it smoothed my hair but I think Bed Head Moisture Maniac Duo did a far better job...

Favorite Winter Products

Hey =) The weather is getting warm outside...so I'm starting to retire all of my winter products...They have served their purpose and help me survive the winter. Some of these products I use all year, so if the product says retire next to it, I only using it during the winter season. If it says keeper, it means I use it all year round!

1. Palmer's Cocoa Butter. Retire. ( This heavy lotion was helped my skin from cracking during the cold weather..but I opt for a lighter moisturizer in the summer)
2. Biosilk. Retire. ( I don't like using a lot of heavy product in my hair in the summer because I feel like the sunshine makes my hair look healthy and shinier. My hair is in better condition in the summer because I heat style a lot less because I actually have the time to style my hair curly
3. Loreal Paris Matte Lipstick in Fired Up. Retire. This is a brick, matte lip that is more suitable with a foundation finished face. Look's to heavy in the winter. I don't wear that much cover up to avoid makeup meltdown
4. Tigi Catwalk Curls Rock Curl Amplifier. Keeper. I love this stuff. It had so many uses. Sometimes it makes my hair a little to curly...but the humid air in the summer relaxes my curl a little..but does cause frizz. It is an excellent smoothing creme after heat styling..and great as a wave separating creme. It smells awesome too!
5. St Ives Apricot Scrub with Hydro Acid. Retire. When the sun becomes brighter, my skin becomes more sensitive. On the warning label it says to avoid going out in the sun while using this product
6. Forever 21 Black Beret and Scarf Set. Retire. No use using this stuff in hot weather!
7. Ed Hardy Perfume Hearts and Daggers. Keeper. It smells strong and sexy, but light enough for going out in the summertime
8. Mark Shine Fighter Oil Control Mask in Apricot and Sugar Cane..keeper. This mask is light, and washes off a lot easier than your typical green mask.
